Amelia Fowler, a native of Brooklyn, NY, has been seen on tv (“BULL”, “Blue Bloods”, “Mysteries of Laura”, “Power”, etc.), film (“Learning to Drive”, “Monica Z”, etc.) and stage (GLAAD award winner “She Like Girls”, etc.) , as well as doing improv with Comedy Sportz NYC and Eight is Never Enough and will have the great pleasure of being part of the cast of, “The Danger” to debut 10/5/18 at JACK in Brooklyn.
Jason Scott Quinn has been studying and performing improv since 2001. He has studied with Ali Farahnakian , Armando Diaz, Kevin Mullaney, Billy Merritt, and Rachel Hamilton to name a few (and short-change many). Jason has performed improv at DSI Comedy Theater (MISTER DIPLOMAT), Magnet Theater (LEGEND), The PIT (Super Free Mondays & Wednesdays), & UCB Theatre (The Documentary). Jason played with Comedysportz North Carolina from 2005-2007 prior to joining Comedysportz NYC in 2014. He has performed as an actor in the New York & Regional Theatre, Film/TV, and in numerous commercials.
Samuel Van Wyk is an actor/improvisor based in New York City. As an improvisor, Samuel has performed for thousands of students and adults. He has also lead Improvisational workshops for all ages from kindergarten students to senior executives and everything in between. As an actor, Samuel works in TV, Film, and Theatre. Samuel has appeared in such TV shows as Evil Talks, Diabolical, and Mysteries at the Museum. Favorite stage roles include Malcolm (The Full Monty), Hal (Proof), and Snoopy (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!).
BrookeTurner is an actor and comedienne represented by Ramona’s Model and Talent, LLC. She is classically trained with an MFA and BFA in Theatre and has been seen off broadway in Dancify That and Old School Sketch Show. Brooke is also on the popular Sketch Comedy House Team at The Peoples Improv Theater, Run DMV, where she acts and writes sketches monthly. And, of course you can see her improvise with Comedy Sportz New York several Saturdays a month at The Broadway Comedy Club. GLENN PACKMAN joined the New York team in 2005 after being associated with ComedySportz troupes across the US since 1986, including stints in Hartford, Boston, Bakersfield and Los Angeles. Some of his other favorite stage credits include Francis in Forever Plaid, Huey in Italian-American Reconciliation, Mr. Velasco in Barefoot in the Park, Mendel in Falsettos, the Sponge Thief in Zen Master, Mr. Martin in Poseidon! An Upside-Down Musical and Gary in I Hate Hamlet. He penned The Great American Breakdown, which was produced in New York, LA and various regional theatres. He’s also done a few commercials and a really bad made-for-PBS film that he flatly refuses to identify. Part of the B&T crowd, Glenn commutes in from Connecticut to do this stuff. (It’s not that far. Really.) Glenn is one of the Head Coaches of ComedySportz New York.
James Rana (#36)James Rana joined Comedysportz NY in 2012. He studied improvisation at The Magnet, Improvolution, Second City, and with Keith Johnstone. He was an original member of the Tony winning Broadway musical The Band’s Visit and continues to tour North America with the show’s First National Tour. On television, he has appeared on “Law & Order: SVU,” “Madam Secretary,” “Chicago Fire,” “The 72nd Tony Awards,” and sketches for “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” In a previous career, he was a stilt walker.
Erin Leigh Schmoyer is an actress / comedienne / voice-over artist from Mountaintop, PA, currently living it up, in Brooklyn, NY. Post-graduation from Sarah Lawrence College and The British American Drama Academy, she has been featured in Off and Off-Off Broadway productions including Circle in the Square Theatre, The Cherry Lane, The Metropolitan Playhouse, The Ailey Citigroup Theater, The Producers’ Club, The Workshop Theatre, La Mama, The Algonquin and Theatre for the New City. Erin Leigh was also in Ye Elizabeths, at the Bleecker Street Theatre. She is also in the monthly Drunk Restoration Comedy series. She is a freelance Creative Thinker and a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
Chris Pearson started his improv journey performing in coffee shops and bookstores around Mesa, Arizona. Later he joined indie troupe Id Vicious in Los Angeles which lead him to the Rec League at LA’s branch of ComedySportz. He is proud and honored to be apart of New York’s Main Stage team! Other roles include a line in a movie called Koreatown, background in the movie Holes, and almost being in the movie The Room.
Jill Shely has performed ComedySportz all over the world from Manila to Munich and even Milwaukee. Other improv theaters Jill has worked with, include The Second City, Theater Works and Theater Sports. Jill has created other shows such as Mom’s Cracking Up! dubbed “The Mother of all Comedy Clubs” featured in The New York Post, The London Telegraph, NBC News and BBC Radio to name a few. Jill also doesn’t just perform alone, it’s a family business. She and her husband Dan (from Comedy Central’s Bert Fershners) also created the show Between A and B, recommend by New York Magazine, Time Out and Back Stage which said the show was “ Quick, funny and above all utterly heart warming” Jill’s favorite things to produce are her two children, Shane and Matilda, who have plenty of credits of their own.
Mike Gregorek is a host, comedian and actor currently residing in NYC. He currently produces/hosts his interactive talk show MAN INTERVIEWS AUDIENCE at Kambri Crews’s QED Astoria and DRUNK RESTORATION COMEDY in the West Village. This pop culture and trivia fanatic is the host for TriviaNYC as well as the company manager and player with the improv comedy troupe ComedySportz NYC. Additionally, Mike has trained and performed long form improv, musical improv and sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade, People’s Improv Theatre & Magnet Theatre. You can find Mike performing standup regularly at such clubs as the Gotham Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club and serves as a regular panel moderator and host for Wizard World Comic Cons all over the country. He has been on stage with Rachel Dratch at a Gilda’s Club benefit and was recently featured as one of the “opening contestants” on NBC’s Million Second Quiz. Online, Mike can be seen in the award winning web series, I Live With This, in which he won Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series at the L.A. WebFest.
Jamie Jones is a professional improv comedienne who performs all over Long Island and New York City. She can be seen with troupes ComedySportz NYC, SEE Saw Comedy, Murder For You, and Now Thatz Funny! Jamie is a member of the longest running improv show on Long Island, Friday Night Face Off, featured on the cover of Newsday. She has studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade as well as ComedySportz and Magnet Theatre. Jamie has a dog named Marty McFly.
Jen Clark is a wild, whimsical, effervescent, comedian, character actor, improvisor & digital media creator! Jamie Rosler has been with ComedySportz New York since 2015, and has been improvising for several years on top of that. Co-founding Broadly Entertaining in 2017, she works primarily as an emcee for and co-owner of the progressive event and entertainment company, valuing every chance she gets to play and perform with her ComedySportz team members. Past projects include: three years as Managing Director of Trivia NYC (and over four years as a host); Assistant to the Producer at En Garde Arts; Artistic Executive Director and Co-founder of Truant Arts (responsible for facilitating the creation of multiple new works for the stage and the working relationships formed therein). Born and raised in New York, with a BA in Theatre from the University of Miami and an MA in Performance from Goldsmiths College, University of London, Jamie is also a proud aunt to five smart and beautiful nieces and nephews (all born between 2015 and 2017).
Ria Torricelli got her start in professional improv with ComedySportz in Portland, OR. Ria has an arts degree from the University of New Mexico and performs scripted works, stand-up comedy and storytelling, and is a published poet. She lives in New Jersey where she teaches Teen and Adult Improvisation classes for several local theaters and Universities and can be seen in Improv Jam. Ria also is the Manager and owner of CSz Jersey Shore.
Originally from Los Angeles, Don Jameson has been doing improv comedy for over two decades. He trained and performed with Comedysportz, the Groundlings, ImprovOlympic, the Acme Comedy Theater, The P.I.T, and the Upright Citizens Brigade theaters. Outside of comedy, one of his passions is teaching the uses of improvisation for professionals and executive students. He current teaches classes on improvisation for leadership and communication skills at the City University of New York, and co-leads the New York chapter of the volunteer-driven Applied Improvisation Network, a global community that believes “improvisational practice has the power to improve the quality of human lives, communities, and organizational relationships.” His favorite Comedysportz games are five things, accent rollercoaster, and escaping from the clutches of three small, demanding children to perform comedy on some Saturday nights.
Rebeccah Bassell is an actress/comedienne/video game producer originally hailing from Richmond, VA, now living out her adorkably-loud-jewish-girl-in-nyc fantasy in Queens. From 2011-2016, Rebeccah performed with the award-winning ComedySportz Richmond troupe, entertaining thousands across the Richmond Metro Area. Since moving to New York in 2016 and joining ComedySportz NYC, Rebeccah has studied improv, sketch, and musical improv at UCB and the PIT. Robert Price started his Comedysportz career as a freshman in CSz Houston’s High School League under the tutelage of the legendary Kelly Harkins. His senior year, Robert was awarded the coveted Tommy Tune Award for Best Actor in a musical and, less importantly, Prom King. While performing on CSz Houston’s pro-team he earned a BFA in Playwriting at The University of Houston. At U of H he ventured into Long-form Improvisation with hilariously named groups like Phortasics and Flirt Reynolds. He spent two summers in Chicago at The Second City and The iO Theater before returning to Houston to teach Improvisation at Beta Theater. Now he lives in New York City and regularly performs in The Cheep Show as a stand up comedian, freestyle rapper and banjoist. The Cheep Show has traveled to Florida and Vermont, and is waiting to be discovered on YouTube.
Michael Jeffery Cohen trained in improvisation at The Second City Training Center conservatory program and ImprovOlympic (now iO) in Chicago, where he performed on the house team Mr. Blonde and several other Harold teams. Since joining ComedySportz 20 years ago, he has been on the roster of ComedySportz Chicago, Philadelphia and NYC. He has taught, coached and directed improvisation in Philadelphia and New York. His favorite color is great.
Neil McNamara is very excited to be working with Comedy Sportz New York. He is not excited to be living in NYC in a space the size of a closet but paying more in rent than a monthly lease for a Cadillac Escalade. With over 25 years of experience in theater, and Improvisation as a performer, teacher, coach, and trainer in Chicago, NYC, and Amsterdam NL. He has worked with such Theatres as IO, The Second City, UCB NY, PIT and Boom Chicago to name a few. Currently Neil can be seen stuck on the C train.
Dana Shulman is a performer, teacher, coach, ridiculous distance runner, and cat mom to Murphy and Monster. She is originally from Boston and currently in a long term relationship with Washington Heights. Dana is a faculty member and regular performer at The Peoples Improv Theater. She is also the co-founder of Socially Distant Improv and of super long running indie team Student Driver. Betty McCall is incredibly excited to be a part of ComedySportz NYC! Hailing from Pennsylvania, she’s been working as a musical theatre actress and comedian in NYC since graduating with a BFA from the University of the Arts. Previous Credits include Zipperface !!?!: The Hobo Musical and the Off-Broadway premiers of The Love Note Musical and The Bloody Deed of 1857. A.J. Coté is a New York City based puppeteer, actor, singer, and improviser. He is the Artistic Director and co-founder of the Puppet Shakespeare Players, a group that infuses puppets into The Bard’s classics. He also designs and builds puppets for stage performance. Recent credits with the Puppet Shakespeare Players include: Aron the Boar/Ensemble in “Puppet Titus Andronicus”(Theater Row); Friar Laurence/Gregory in “Puppet Romeo and Juliet”(Players Theatre); and Laertes/Rosencrantz/Ensemble in “Puppet Hamlet”(Players Theatre). He also performs/hosts for “The Drunk Texts,” a monthly show that infuses classical texts with drinking games. A.J. is also a member of the short form improv troupe, Comedysportz New York. A.J. is the Master Carpenter at NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts Graduate Design. He is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Theater Performance. A.J. also enjoys playing guitar, silly voices, and a good fondue.
Lee Alan Barrett – IMPROVISER, ACTOR MAGICIAN, COMEDIAN Lee is a professional actor and improviser and has been member of ComedySportz NYC since 2006. He’s performed for such organizations as Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Sloan Kettering Center, Wounded Warrior Project, and FAO Schwartz. Also one of the top Comedy Magicians in NYC. Has appeared on the CBS Early Show, the Broadway Comedy Club, Time Square Magic Show, The Magic at Coney Show, and Taste of Magic, and was one of the main close up magicians for Ninja NY restaurant from 2008 to 2020.
Brian Tyler has acted off-off Broadway while a member of the Third Eye Theatre Company and for several regional theatres throughout the US. He studied improv with SAK Comedy Lab, Peoples Improv Theatre and Upright Citizens Brigade. He’s been a comedic actor, improviser, and show host for Nickelodeon, Walt Disney World, and Universal Studios Florida. He has also been seen on many NYC comedy stages with the improv team, Bodega Daddy.
Callie Raynor is an actor andimproviser from Houston, TX currently zooming in from Harlem. She has a BA in Theatre and a BS in Radio-TV-Film from the University of Texas and has studied improv at UCB, the Magnet, and more. She graduated from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s Evening Conservatory in 2019 and joined ComedySportz NYC soon after. She is thrilled to be a part of this group of hilarious humans!
Megan Miles lives in Brooklyn, New York. She has been performing improv comedy for the past 11 years. When she is not performing with Comedy Sportz NYC, you can catch her freestyle rapping or doing yoga. Megan loves to cook, but hates pickles. She loves making up hahas and heehees for ANY and EVERYONE who will listen.
David Armstrong – Originally from San Diego, David is a comedian and playwright currently living in New York City. A theatre major at San Diego State University, David helped found the I Eta Pi improv team, and performed onstage in San Diego and Los Angeles at Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, and National Comedy Theatre. A resident of Brooklyn since 2013, when he’s not performing, David’s a big nerd for Shakespeare, Star Wars, and Dungeons & Dragons.
Kevin McNair (#85) is an actor, director, improviser, and photographer living in Connecticut but commuting all the time to NYC. He graduated with a BFA in Theatre Education from Central Connecticut State University. After college his town’s mayor appointed him to the Town of Stratford’s Arts Commission and he served for 5 years. Kevin has spent time on multiple theatre boards in Connecticut often looking over all tech requirements. He has directed many plays including a touring production of “The Twelfth Day in Paris”. Kevin is a former improv house team member of The PIT (Lettermen!) and The Armory (Strawberry Daniels). Kevin studied improv with UCB, The PIT, and Magnet Theater. He taught at the PIT while coaching multiple indie teams in NYC. When Kevin is not performing or working in theatre he runs his own photography business.
Billy Soco is an APA/Latinx improviser, actor, and VO artist originally from Gainesville, FL and currently based in NYC and is so psyched to be a part of ComedySportz NYC! He has studied improv, musical improv and sketch at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Magnet Theater, and Freestyle Love Supreme Academy. He is a proud Story Pirate, has performed on Lloyd Night with UCBT, as well as with his all-Latinx team CHUCHO at comedy festivals throughout North America. Our Musical Team
Rachel Kaufman (pianist) is a multi-instrumentalist who has been playing for improv comedy groups since 1991. She has played for such groups as ComedySportz, Chicago City Limits, The Improvoholics, Burn Manhattan, many groups at The PIT, as well at the Funny Women Fest 2000 in Chicago. She has also music directed and/or played for well over 300 musicals and cabaret shows worldwide, and can be seen playing for auditions, classes, at piano bars, churches and occasionally in the orchestra on cruise ships. She holds a B.A. in Music (and Russian) from the University of Chicago.
