ComedySportz Supports Our Troops

At a recent show, ComedySportz NY had the honor of performing for some brave young men getting ready to enter the military at West Point.

Thank you to these fine gentlemen, and all service men and women who are protecting our country.

ComedySportz at New York Summer Camps

This past summer, ComedySportz New York worked with number of great summer camps in the greater New York City area. We facilitated workshops for camp counselors, taught improv workshops to camp kids and performed shows for entire camp audiences.

The entire experience was a blast and incredibly rewarding–is there no greater sound than that of children laughing? Special thanks to all of the camps that we worked with, and we look forward to seeing you all next summer.

ComedySportz at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

ComedySportz NY recently had the honor of working with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut. We performed a show and did a workshop with the kidz and all of the players had a blast.

Here’s one quote from Lee, a player on the trip:

Going and doing a show for the kids there, was as amazing this time as it was the last.  The camp is a very special place, and you feel it as soon as you walk in.  When you go back, sign me up.

No Show on August 27th

CSz New York will be taking a Summer Vacation on Saturday, August 27th so there will be no show. Be sure to check us out the following week for our Labor Day show on September 3rd.

CSz and Children's Hospitals

While in Indianapolis for the 2011 WCL Championships, one of our players had the chance to do a remote show for kids sick in the hospital.

Players from around the country gathered to play an All-Star match to help support Peyton Manning’s Children’s Hospital and provide a laugh or two. Big thanks to Lee for representing the New York team.

CSz Closed on July 2nd

ComedySportz will be closed on July 2nd for a private event. We’ll be back on the 9th for more hilarious improv competition.

CSz Showdown: Philadelphia versus New York

ComedySportz New York recently hosted an epic North East(ish) battle between Philadelphia and New York City. The show was a hilarious romp, and given that the New York team is so incredibly nice, allowed the Philly team to walk away with the trophy…

Below are some great pictures documenting the historic battle. All images credited to Ariel Taub Photography.

ComedySportz and Special Needs Programming

This past weekend, ComedySportz New York had the honor and privilege of working with the Adaptations Group at JCC in Manhattan. Adaptations is part of the Young Audlt Life Skills Network and focuses on programming for Young Adults with Special Needs.

Two of our members, Drew and John, visited the group on Saturday night to do an All-Star Duo Show, and play some games and exercises with the group. Here’s what the incredibly nice and awesome Director had to say about the event:

Thank you so much for coming. I do think our Adaptations members fully enjoyed the evening.

The ComedySportz team fully engaged our group of Adaptations (Young Adult Life Skills Network) members. Their unique games and comic routines kept everyone on their toes and ready for a good time. Smiles and laughs ruled the evening. Everyone has asked for them to return!

ComedySportz and Faith-based Organizations

The ComedySportz National Touring Company will be helping the RCMA kick off one of the day sessions at their upcoming conference with some interactive, high-energy improvisation comedy.

As Steph DeWaegeneer says in this article, ComedySportz is a great option for churches and faith-based organizations:

“Churches and faith-based organizations are our best repeat business, because the audiences appreciate clean, upbeat humor presented by polished professionals. ComedySportz is one of the few entertainers that can meet this need, whether the audience is a youth group or women’s retreat.”
